Benefits of luxury vinyl plank flooring
If you’ve ever wanted the beauty of wood floors for your bathroom, known as the ‘wettest room in the house,” you can now have it with vinyl plank flooring. Also referred to as LVP floors, these floors are highly affordable and manufactured into long planks to mimic hardwood boards. They are a thicker, more rigid version of the original vinyl. They are so realistic that sometimes even the flooring experts have difficulty distinguishing them from genuine wood, but you won't pay nearly the same price as you would for the real thing.
100% waterproof flooring
When something is waterproof, it means that it is utterly impervious to liquid. Made of waterproof materials, in this case, vinyl, and the vinyl composites core, it is impenetrable from bottom to top. That means you can submerge it, as in an appliance flood, or spill on it. While that capability makes it ideal for kitchens, baths, laundry rooms, and other higher-than-normal moisture places, it is stylish enough for the living and dining room.

Multi-layered durability
LVP floors won’t scratch, stain, or indent easily; in fact, it's considered to be a kid-and-pet-friendly floor. It has several layers and, at the top, is a transparent, strong melamine wear sheet that protects the surface from wear and keeps spills from absorbing. While all vinyl is strong, this should be at least 8-mm or more, with a 20-mils wear layer.
Style and realism
LVP is one form of luxury vinyl (LVF), with the other form being groutable squares to echo stone or tile looks. Images are taken with 3D photography, so they are clear and vibrant, showing knots, grains and swirls. The floors have a micro bevel and deep embossing to add depth, design, and textured features, such as wire-brushed, hand scraped, weathered, and distressed. The floors are available in matt, gloss, and high gloss colors.
These floors are also low maintenance, requiring only daily sweeping and periodic mopping with a manufacturer-approved cleaner. Installation can be a simple floating floor where the pieces click together, mat, then hover over the subfloor without nails or glue. Subfloors need to be clean, dry, and level.
